**Update**

We were moved out of Labor and Delivery wing and into a more long term section with better rooms late Friday night. It is more relaxed over here and I am only monitored twice a day (unless I have some type of problem) I still receive antibotics every 4 hours to prevent infection.
I will have another ultrasound on Tuesday (Feb.17) to determine how much fluid I have left. On Friday I had 20 (not sure if they are measuring ounces or what) and as long as it does not get below 10 they will let me go until the next Tueday (Feb. 24) and so on until I reach 36 weeks. If my fluid is low, they will induce the following day. All this seems so confusing but to sum it up: If she isn't here by March 4th they will induce then. I will be 36 weeks and a few days so they think that will give her plenty of time to get ready.
I could have thought of a millon other ways I wanted to spent Valentine's Day but we have to do what we have to do. This was the only communication I had with everyone since myspace is blocked here at the hospital unless I get on Jared's iphone. We had talked about getting me one but I wanted to wait and make up my mind, but Jared went and got me one today to cheer me up! :)
Thanks for all the prayers and please continue to do so. Keep checking back and I'll do my best to keep you updated!

Labor and Delivery

I just wanted to let everyone know that we are in the labor and delivery room at Ft. Sanders.
Warning: Could get graphic...
Sometime on Thursday my mucas plug came out, no big deal to me, I just ignored it.
Around midnight on one of the many trips I took to the bathroom I noticed that I was leaking some fluid. Thanks to my childbirth class, I knew it could be my water with a slow leak instead of a gush. I called Larissa (can been seen in the shower photo's below) to ask her opinion b/c I knew her water broke on its own with her first. She along with Jared were urging me to call the dr. I however did not want to b/c I knew they would make me come in. Sure enough, they wanted to see me.
10:00am we make it do the office, Dr. Shine (not my favorite) was the nurse oncall and she tested the fluid and it is for sure my water. I was dilated to 1.5 cm. at this point. She sends me over to L & D to get hooked up to monitors for contractions and baby's heart beat. They also started anitbotics since I was loosing water for sure.
Nothing really exciting happened during this time. I realized what contractions were and that I have been having them for a few weeks now just not severe. Late afternoon, still at 1.5 cm. During the day they were getting more severe and my wonderful nurse Amber suggessted some Stadol for pain. I love Amber and I love Stadol! lol It took affect within in 20 seconds of injection but made me have crazy dreams therefore no rest. They later decided to give me a sleeping pill Ambien which relaxed me and sent me to sleep. Around 5 this morning I met a new nurse and chatted with her about baby names and her pregnancy. Within minutes I fell off to sleep (I believe with The Lords hand upon me) and stayed asleep while 4 plus nurses ran into the room searching for baby lane's heart beat. I was as peaceful as I could be (again the hand of the Lord) they put oxygen on me and said I had a major contraction lasting 4.5 minutes and that was the cause of her heart beat to drop so rapidly. I knew what was going on, I just layed there and let them work until they said all was okay with us. While in the rush, they checked me and I was still 1.5 dilated.
This morning a new Dr. came in, Dr. Kinkead. In a nut shell... we are waiting to have this baby. They will not do anything to help her come, she has to come on her own, UNLESS we have another episode like we did this morning. However, that could mean tomorrow, or 3 weeks from now. Waiting without anwsers is the hardest part, the thing is... no one has the anwsers except our Lord and Baby Lane. He may order a ultrasound to check the fluid level and we really wish he would!
I think we have decided on a name but hey, you have waited this long, I think you can wait until she gets here! :)

Baby Shower #1

Shower #1 at Leadvale Baptist Church
Febuary 1, 2009
My Mom and Dad re-finished this Rocking Chair for us. This was given to me by my Papaw Paw when I was 2 years old. It was in several pieces and momma saved them all these years, daddy put it back together and stained it to match her furniture! I LOVE IT! Our Family

32 weeks and 4 days

Wednesday was our 32 week appointment and ultrasound.

She is already weighing 5.2 lbs. and Dr. Moffet actually called her a giant! They are keeping a close watch on her to make sure she doesn't get to be enormous before she gets here. On the ultrasound we could not even see her face because her head has already dropped so low. I have figured out, that if her head is low that means the only place for her feet to be are... in my right ribs! If you recall, my right side is where I have hurt all along, and this sure doesn't help!

The pictures she took of her are not worth sharing b/c you can not see anything, I guess that just makes the anticipation greater! The nurse did tell us that even though she can not see the baby's face, she can tell she has some hair but def. has some chubby cheeks!! This cracks us up because Jared always talks about my chubby cheeks.

Her kidney's look great, she still had some fluid in them but not enough for them to be concerned. - An anwsered prayer!

I go back to the Dr. in 2 weeks and then after that I think I start every week. Dr. Moffet said she would be happy if I could make it until 37 weeks to deliver - which would make it the week of March 8th. I went yesterday and picked up a few things to fill my bag for the hospital. Even though it could still be a while yet, I would rather be prepared then sorry!

Her bedding came in 2 weeks early!!! We are very satisfied with it and I can't wait to fix everything up for you to see! They forgot to send me the window valance, so we are waiting on that and wanting to pick up a few more hot pink accessories before we take pictures.

Jared has finally went through the baby name book and given me a list to choose from. Problem is: now the ball is in my court and I can't make up my mind!!! I may make a survey thing on here and let you all vote on them. I'll let you know!

30 weeks

Baby Lane's is growing and developing well according to our last appointment. We will get to see her on the Feb. 4th to check her kidneys one more time and make completely sure that "she" is really a "she" since they were only 95% sure last time. She is still moving a lot, but I expect that to slow down soon. I got my blood shot with a big needle and thick medicine=no fun!
Her room is finished!! You can't see it yet b/c she doesn't have any baby bedding yet. We can't make our mind up so, you will just have to wait and see. Her furniture is in the room and it looks great, I love it! Sorry it has taken me so long to update, I knew if I didn't hurry and update it would be time for me to go back! I go Feb 4th so watch for updates!

28 weeks and counting...

I had promised myself that I was not going to post another update until I put some pictures on here but as you see - no pictures. I figured if I didn't update you now on my last appointment, I would forget all that the Dr. said by then :)

I had my 28 week appointment last week which included my sugar test. My sugar was 74

and they want it to be under 140, so I am doing good. All that means to me is: I need to eat more sugar! I have a negative blood type so they had to draw from my arm instead of prick my finger, plus I had a flu shot! Two sticks and I didn't even cry! I start going to the Dr. every 2 weeks now and next time they will give me my first blood shot. I saw a male Dr. this time, and as always, I complained about my side/back hurting and he checked my stomach area to make sure it wasn't my gallbladder (its not). All the other Drs. just said it was normal, so I am thankful he at least checked other things it could be.

Jared has finished the extra room and after a good cleaning, we will be ready to move furniture out of the baby's room and into the new room. Next, comes a few can lights being added to the Baby's room and then her furniture gets to move in!! I am trying to make up my mind on her bedding set, so far, no luck.

We finished registering over the weekend, and that has gotten me really excited about her arrival! I just keep in the back of my mind, she could come any day now (we want her to stay as long as possible) But it could happen and we need to be prepared!
